Study start test on academic integrity
To best prepare yourself for your studies, we recommend that you take a short online course on academic integrity when you start at CBS..
What is the course about?
Academic integrity is a cornerstone of studying at university. The course helps you become aware of common challenges and identify solutions which are essential skills you will need throughout your studies.
The study start test explains, e.g., how to:
- avoid plagiarism and falsification
- use sources and references correctly
- use AI appropriately and in accordance with the rules
The purpose of the test is therefore to ensure that you can feel confident in your academic work.

You can take the test from:
1 September 12:00 noon – 29 September 12:00 noon
You can take the test as many times as you want within the period.
The study start test is mandatory for part-time master programmes
If you are studying on a part-time master programme, the study start test is mandatory. You must pass the test in order to continue on your programme
What is plagiarism?
CBS defines plagiarism as ”an attempt to take credit for the work of others without their consent and without a source reference.”
Whenever you use sources in an assignment, you need to make sure that you use a correct citation. This means that you must point to the exact sources you have used in your assignment. This way, readers will be able to identify the original source easily and verify that the thoughts and ideas expressed in the source have been applied correctly by you.
